Dr. Kumar Kempan

Dr. Kumar Kempan is a Consultant Physician and Diabetologist in Coimbatore, with over 10 years' experience in medical practice. He holds an MD General Physician degree from Moscow Medical University (2001), and also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Industrial Health.

Dr. Kempan is currently attached to Sheela Hospital in Coimbatore. He is also a Consultant Diabetologist at Bethel Hospital, Ellen Hospital, Arun Surgery Hospital, and PGS Hospital, all of which are located in Coimbatore. In addition, Dr. Kempan can be consulted privately at Ayush Clinic in the Rathinapuri area of the city, on weekday evenings by appointment.

Prior to his current assignments, Dr. Kempan gained experience as a Medical Officer at St. Mary's Hospital (Coimbatore) from 2002 to 2004, and at Sheela Hospital where he worked in the ICU, Ortho & General Medicine departments from 2003 to 2005. He then spent a year at Malabar Diabetic Centre in Calicut as a Consultant Diabetologist, while simultaneously serving as Chief Factory Medical Officer at ITC Ltd.'s PSPD Unit in Kovai. Earlier, while at Moscow Medical University, he worked in the Endocrinology Department.

Dr. Kumar Kempan is a Member of the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) at the national level, and of RSSDI's Tamil Nadu Chapter as well. He is also a member of other diabetes associations in the country. Dr. Kempan has been involved in many Phase III drug trials, and has participated in numerous national and international conferences. He has conducted many health camps and diabetic awareness programmes.

On the personal front, Dr. Kumar Kempan captained his school in volleyball (Stanes Higher Secondary School in Ooty), participated in various extracurricular activities, and played basketball at the district level.
